The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority welcomes requests for professional and commercial photography and filming at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Individuals, companies, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations may apply for permission to conduct filming or photography projects on airport property.
News organizations covering events or reporting at the airport should review separate requirements for media access.
When a Permit Is Required
A filming or photography permit is required for most professional, commercial or organized productions at RDU, including:
Movie productions
Television productions (excluding bona fide news coverage)
Stock photography or video production
Music videos
Student film or photography assignments
Advertising campaigns
Photography or video intended for sale
Promotional photography or video content
How to Apply
To request permission for filming or photography at RDU:
Submit your request at least 14 business days before your desired production date.
Review applicable filming rates and fees.
Submit completed materials by email or mail.
The Airport Authority reviews all applications and provides an initial response within three business days of receipt.
Fees
Filming and photography fees may apply based on the scope and nature of the production.
Student and nonprofit projects may be eligible for fee waivers at the discretion of the Airport Authority.
