Media Inquiries

Please send your questions to rdunews@rdu.com or call our media line at 919-840-7070. We check phone messages regularly, but email is the fastest way to reach us.

We will respond to non-urgent questions as promptly as possible. If a non-urgent request comes in after hours, we will follow up on the next business day.

At the Airport

Media are welcome in the pre-security areas of the terminals without prior approval, as long as they are not hindering airport operations. Access beyond the TSA security checkpoints requires advance notice and a pre-arranged airport escort. Media covering stories on airport property must visibly display valid credentials.

Restaurants, shops and airline spaces are privately leased. You will need permission from the business or airline before filming inside those areas.

Live shots using wireless technology are allowed inside the terminals. To keep the airport accessible and safe, please do not use cords inside buildings or block walkways, entrances or exits.

When News Happens

During time-sensitive situations or emergencies, we will respond as quickly as we can confirm the information needed to provide an accurate response. To receive timely information, email rdunews@rdu.com and ask to be added to our media distribution list. We will respond to urgent inquiries by email and share updates on Facebook and X at @RDUAirport.

We are glad to answer any questions and work with you to make your visit as smooth and productive as possible. Please email us if you need additional information about media access or parking.

Parking

RDU does not have dedicated media parking. Media may pay to park in any of the ParkRDU lots or the garage.

Live trucks may park on the curb outside the terminals when needed, with a few guidelines:

  • Stay with your truck: Live trucks must be attended at all times. Unattended trucks may be ticketed or towed.

  • Terminal 1: Attended live trucks may park at the end of the commercial vehicle curb, beyond the canopy.

  • Terminal 2: Attended live trucks may park on the upper level, beyond the canopy.

  • Please follow the guidelines: Repeated violations may result in the loss of the media outlet’s curbside parking privileges.
